Sanjay Gandhi History

Sanjay Gandhi was an Indian politician, he was a member of the Nehru -Gandhi dynasty. During his lifetime, his mother Indira Gandhi. had success as the head of the Indian National Congress, but after her death in the plane crash,her eldest brother Rajiv Gandhi became the political successor of his mother and later Sanjay,s widowed wife Maneka Gandhi and her son Varun Gandhi as successful prime minister of India. Is one of the man politicians.

                Early life and Education 


Sanjay Gandhi was born on 14 December 1946, as the son of former prime minister Indira Gandhi and Firoz Gandhi, like Rajiv GandhI, Sanjay Gandhi first studied at Welham Boys school and then at Doon School in Dehradun. He decided to make automotive engineer his career and in England's crave. He also did an apprenticeship for three years. He was very interested in sports cars and he also entered the pilot licence. Sanjay Gandhi was very close to his mother.

                   Maruti Limited Dispute



In 1971, Prime mister Indira Gandhi,s cabinet decided to make a ' People's car' to the company. A skilled indigenous car whose middle class Indians could be spent. In June 1971, a company called "Maruti Motors Limited " was included under the Companies Act and Sanjay Gandhi became its Managing Director. Through Sanjay Gandhi had no previous experience. He made many proposals and handed over to the corporation, he had also got a contract to build the car and was also issued a licence to produce a large amount of car.


The criticism that followed this decision was mostly based on Indira Gandhi. But 1971 Bangladesh liberation war and victory over Pakistan muted important voices. The company did not produce any vehicles during its lifetime. The test model presented was criticised. Public perception are against Sanjay Gandhi and a lot of growing corruption has started to be estimated. After this the thinking of the people started to go against Sanjay Gandhi and many people even started accusing him of corruption.


Sanjay Gandhi again contracted Volkswagen AG from west Germany. Because to some extent he believed that Volkswagen would help him in his proposal. During the fall, Sanjay Gandhi hot active in politics and  Maruti's project was overwhelmed. During this time, he was also accused of corruption and fraud. In the end, the Janata Government came to power in 1997 and Maruti Limited was destroyed.


A year after his death in 1980 and on Indira's warning the central government rescued Maruti Limited and started searching for an active partner for a new company. This year Maruti industry  Limited was established due to the struggles of V. Krishnamurti. The Japanese company Suzuki was also approached to present the design and viability of its car being manufactured in India. When Suzuki learnt that the Indian government has also approached Volkswagen, it did everything to pip the German company to produce India's first People's Car. With this the government also got a good design car for the general people. Which was successful in India as well as in Japan and other east Asian countries. 



Beautification of Jama Masjid and the                             destruction of huts





Sanjay Gandhi along with Jagmohan the deputy chairman of the department authority of India, when Sanjay Gandhi went to Delhi to look at the  Turk men gate, he was very angry because he was not seen the old Jama Masjid because of the huts. On 13 April 1976, the Delhi deployment department put bulldozer on those hut and police lathicharge them and those who started protesting against it had to carry the bullets. As a result of the shootout, at least 150 deaths occurred. More then 70,000 people were displaced during this episode. Displaced residents were taken to a new undeveloped housing site in Yamuna river.



                  Sterilisation program 



In September 1976, Sanjay Gandhi started a comprehensive sterilisation program to limit population growth, but many people had strongly opposed this decision of Sanjay Gandhi and the people of Gujarat also got Sanjay Gandhi's gesture government but according to some government officials this program was not organised by the government itself but by Sanjay Gandhi himself.


                   Rule During Emergency 


In 1974, the opposition parties came to the strike, and due to this the atmosphere of unrest was spreading in many parts of the country and the highest impact was on the government and the country economic system.


On 25 June 1975 Indira Gandhi declared a national emergency after going against the court,which resulted in the entire country due to delays in annual elections. Thousands of people including many freedom fighters like jai Prakash Narayan and jivantram Kripalani, we're arrested against the emergency.


Before and after the emergency very soon, in a very hostile political environment Sanjay Gandhi emerged as a consultant to Indira. Even without being appointed to any post, she did a lot of work through Indira Gandhi. Indira Gandhi also assumed her most effective advisor at that time.


MarkTully's according to him,  " His inexperience prevented him from using Draconian powers, whose mother Indira Gandhi had taken the administration to terrorised, which was under the influence of a police state.


During the emergency Indira Gandhi declared a 20- point economic program for deployment. Sanjay Gandhi also announced to promote very few five points of her own program.

● Literacy 
● Family planing 
●Tree planting 
●Eradication of racism 
●Abolition of dowry 


Later, during the emergency, Sanjay's program was merged with indira's 20 points program to form a combined twenty-five issue program.


Of the five points, Sanjay is now remembered primarily for family planing initiatives as the population of India was growing rapidly at that time, by controlling which we could get rid of many problems or many problems could also.




            Personal Life of Sanjay Gandhi 




Sanjay Gandhi was married to Menka Gandhi, ten years younger then her, in new Delhi in October 1974. She also has one son Varun Gandhi. Who was born shortly before Sanjay Gandhi's death. Later he had his own party Sanjay the idea started in the forum Menka Gandhi supported many non - Congress parties after this and remained in government for many years. currently, she and her son Varun Gandhi are a member of BJP.


At the political level, the BJP is Sonia's Gandhi Congress Party biggest opponent. Prime minister Narendara Modi also made Maneka Gandhi in her cabinet in May 2014 and made her the minister for woman and child department. As well as her son Varun Gandhi on BJP side. Is a member of the parliament from Sultanpur constituency of Uttar pradesh.




                  Death of Sanjay Gandhi 



Sanjay Gandhi died on 23 June 1980. In an air crash near Safdarjung airport in the head after the suffered wounds in the head. He was flying a new plane of the Delhi flying club, and while doing and aerobatic manoeuvring at his office lost control and crashed. Caption Subhash Saxena the only passenger in the air, died in an accident. 

Wikileaks has revealed that three attempts have been made on his life before he died in the plane crash.


Despite being surrounded by controversies, Sanjay Gandhi was a popular politician. He wanted to do something different for Indian politics and country but despite his being surrounded by controversies,  his popularity in public was not reduced.
